A laser-etched barbed wire pattern runs up the 12" shaft of this one, which is the sort of detail that either sells you the boot immediately or does not. Underneath the pattern it is a serious piece of kit: nano toe, waterproof lining, and protection against oil and slips.

The vamp and shaft are leather. CellStretch technology puts cells in the forefoot and the heel for cushioning, and a nylon and glass fiber shank runs through the middle with a single-stitched storm welt sealing the sole to the upper. The footbed is Blend85, made with 85% recycled foam, with an ecoTWEED lining made from recycled plastic bottles. The pull tabs are leather. The nano toe is rated ASTM F2413-18 M/I/C EH, and the outsole is an EH-rated oil and slip resistant rubber on a 1" tall block heel. Toe shape round, colour brown and squash.

The recycled content in the footbed is quietly the most modern thing here. The etched shaft is the loudest. Between them sits a boot that keeps water out and takes a beating, which is what you actually bought it for.
