Nine layers is what this one is built from, and the count is not decoration — each layer is doing a separate job, and taken together they are the reason a boot this substantial does not feel it.

The second is an EVA cushion layer that contours and molds to the foot. The third is genuine Goodyear welt construction. The fourth is a two-layer innersole, flexible along the full length with a stabilizing rigid heel tuck. The fifth is a cushioning EVA forepart. The sixth is the patented Dually Shank System, two fiberglass shanks working together for medial and lateral torsion stability and midfoot support, with a littleway stitch binding the outsole, the heel tuck and the upper into one piece for absolute durability. The seventh is a lightweight EVA midsole. The eighth is a lightweight, shock absorbing polyurethane heel base. The ninth is the stirrup friendly rubber outsole, made with high-abrasion rubber for increased slip and oil resistance. The rocker heel lessens stress by promoting a more natural heel strike, and the rolled shank area allows for stirrup-friendly ease.

What all of that produces is a tall western boot that behaves like a lighter one, which is the entire premise of the Lite name. The rustic tan and tobacco finish keeps it looking like a boot rather than like equipment. If you ride and then spend the rest of the day on your feet, this is the layered answer to a problem most boots solve by ignoring half of it. Square toe, jean over the shaft, and a long service life ahead of it.
