Based on the design of an athletic shoe, and 21.5% lighter than the average boot — that is the Pickett's whole argument, a specific enough number to be worth trusting.

The foot and upper are goat leather, with a premium full grain leather upper and a leather lining behind it. The outsole is DuraCloud rubber, offering unparalleled cushion and grip, and heavy-duty enough to hold on a wet surface. The toe is square and construction is cement with a double row stitch. The insole is an Ortholite removable insert in open-cell polyurethane foam — breathable, lightweight, flexible, and built to retain 95% of its original thickness.

Goat leather is the quiet luxury here: softer and lighter than cowhide, and it breaks in almost immediately. Combined with the weight saving, this is the western boot for a long day standing rather than a long day riding. On the ranch or out on the town is the stated range, and the weight makes both plausible. Rugged yet stylish is fair — just do not expect it to feel like a traditional boot, because that is the part it deliberately gave up.
