12" MICKEY (STEEL TOE)

A 12" wide square toe work boot with a steel safety toe, proudly made in the USA with global parts. It is a domestic build in the older sense: a leather welt, a leather lining, and a stitch pattern you can count.

The vamp and toe are Mont Blanc leather and the shaft is peanut bison leather, put together as a saddle vamp with an eight row stitch pattern and a double stitched leather welt. Inside, a Texon insole carries a flexible cork inlay, with a Midnight shock absorbing polyurethane insert above it doing the work your knees would otherwise do. The lining is leather. Under everything sits the Oak I.C.E. outsole — Industrial Compressed Elastomer, the longest lasting of the outsoles here, designed to resist abrasion for longer wear and built to the standards for oil resistance and for slip resistance under ASTM F1677. It is electrical hazard tested as well: an independent lab held 18,000 volts at 60hz against it for one minute without leakage.

The wide square toe is what you notice first and the welt is what you will still be grateful for in three winters, because a welted boot can be taken apart and put back together. Pull them on over a straight jean and let them mark up. Boots built this way are meant to record the work rather than hide it.
