11" SHOW STOPPER
The Vibram outsole is the news here. The maker partnered with Vibram, the world's leader in high performance rubber soles, to develop an outsole for this boot, and it is slip resisting — which is not a phrase most dress-leaning western boots get to use.
Everything above it is from the latest Frontier collection: a premium full grain leather upper over a leather lining, crafted with meticulous attention to detail and engineered for resilience and precision. The toe is a wide square, the heel is a 1 1/8" walking block, construction is a 3/4 welt with a double row stitch, and the shank is metallic. The insole is an OrthoLite insert, made in open-cell polyurethane foam that is breathable, lightweight and flexible, built to retain 95% of its original thickness rather than flatten over time, with anti-bacterial properties, and removable so it can be washed and put back.
So: the looks of a boot for going out and the grip of one for standing up in. That combination is rarer than it should be, and it is the whole reason to choose this over something with a leather sole. Supreme comfort blended with rugged charm is the maker's phrase; the honest version is that you can wear these on a wet pavement without thinking about it. Wide square toe, straight jean over the shaft, and no further instructions.
